Hello,
I just bought the G51VX-X1A that has bluetooth built-in, but I can't get it to work with my Motorola S9 stereo headset, apparently due to lack of support for A2DP in Vista.
I think the only way would be to install an alternative stack like the broadcom/widcomm, but would the internal bluetooth work with it? Has anyone tried this? It would be ridiculous if I had to plug an external bluetooth adapter for this to work...![]()

just update with the widcomm drivers. it's the same thing in Win7. there is support for ad2p, you just need the drivers for it.
go to device manager to find out which bluetooth model you have. I have the BT-253 in the G50vt -
Thanks! Mine is the BT-253 also. I downloaded the original drivers from Asus and now the headset is recognized and paired, but after this point there is no connection, no sound, no controls.
I'll try a little more with the S9 or another headset before trying the widcomm. Did anyone get a headset working with the original drivers? -
I have a V1S and S9HD and the pair is working flawlessly. never tinkered with Widcomm drivers, Vista Business SP2. Could I have installed something I forgot about that added a2dp support?

after it's paired...
what usually happens is, for the S9HD (and I'm certain the S9 non-HD also)... it automatically connects to the headset part, but not the headphone part.
right click on the bluetooth icon in the task bar if you have it, otherwise, you'll have to look for it (I don't remember where it is in vista, it's a little different in win7)... once you're in properties, go to audio and it should list your device.
double click (or right click, select connect) on the stereo bluetooth and it should try to connect. if it works, you might have to tell the audio stack to default to the bluetooth (sometimes it does it automatically, sometimes, not).
if it doesn't, you'll have to troubleshoot it... sometimes it's as easy as restarting both the bluetooth device and the module on the laptop (turn em off, then back on). sometimes it needs the whole laptop to reboot... and other times, you have to un-pair and re-pair... if none of these work... well, let's just say there are a few more things to try... but it'd be better if you were a computer tech (in which case I wouldn't have needed to tell you anything).
btw, the "original" ASUS drivers... are broadcom's widcomm drivers (since it is a broadcom bluetooth device and all). -
I got it working now! I was just pointing Vista to a folder with the driver files when it asked for the the headset drivers, but something more was missing. I removed all paired devices and reinstalled the drivers running the setup program and now everything works, including AVRCP controls, and the sound is great. Thanks for your help!
