Hello. My G51VX's power adapter just stopped working and I can't find an original replacement here in Brazil, but I've found a lot of generic adapters (those with replaceable tips) and even some models for Toshiba notebooks that have almost the same specs as the original: 120W, 19V, 6.3A and 2.5/5.5mm connector. The difference here is that the original one states 6.32A instead of 6.3A, but I don't know if this difference is relevant.

Do you guys think it would be safe to go with those replacements? Has anyone tried it?

My wife's Alienware m15x adapter has those specs, and is interchangeable with my G51.

If the tips and voltage are the same and the amps are that close you're fine. Amps are drawn as needed and something like 6.3 vs 6.32 is probably just a rounding thing. Assuming the adapters are perfectly up to spec, it's less than half a watt difference between them and won't make much of a difference (119.7W vs 120.08W).
