    Hello
Trying to make a WinXP Raid 0 setup and new to this
done my fair share of reading and really haven't gotten any solid results and just a bunch of cd-r's being garbaged.

I know I need to use n-lite to slipstream the raid drivers because XP is special in that way.

Where I'm stuck now is where to get those raid drivers from...

When I go to ASUS website.. drivers webpage.. my best guess is Intel Matrix Storage Manager = Raid drivers? Please correct me if I'm wrong and guide me in wrong direction... This may be dumb, but I'm a fast learner ; Thanks.

    Update 1:
So I found this spot where i hold CTRL-I ; and setup raid and named the new Volume...
Plug in the XP Pro cd and it BSOD's at end with blue screen ... So I'm guessing I still need those drivers?
    Any help thanks

    its turning out harder than i expected for me for XP;

as a side note I was experimenting....

if i just install windows 7 (since it doesn't BSOD on me) ; do I need to do anything like install drivers once I'm loaded into the system?

    Like all I did was
    CTRL+I --> make Raid 0

Insert Win7 disc and install OS

    now everything is working...

is that it for Raid under Win7? or do I do anything else...

That should be it for raid under win7 (is all I needed for raid under winvista)

first, thanks a lot element your being a great help

    so
so i did everything in that guide line by line

    here is where im stuck

when i boot from my nLite XP CD
i keep pressing f6 to install raid drivers... nothing happens it just continues

until it keeps going and stop at this screen to specifiy additional SCI drivers blah blah press S (which leads me to a dead end)
or Continue ... and so it does until then I end up at BSOD error....

is the keyboard unresponsive during the first initial seconds? I went into bios and enabled legacy support...
I think i'm on the verge of getting this finished

Once you nlited the drivers you shouldn't need to install anything else, it should just work. so don't press any buttons until you get to formatting your HDD

maybe im making a mistake during the nLite process?

    when choosing the drivers...

    Quote:
"In the page of [Drivers], click Insert >> Single Driver, a window pops up, select C:\SATA driver, 2 selections show up, select iaAHCI, click Open, then pops up another window, in which there are more than 10 selections, select Intel® ICH8M-E/M and ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller, click OK >> Next, a window pops up with a question “Do you want to start the process?”, click Yes. Take out the original XP CD and put a blank CD into the DVD drive."

From there should I choose the Raid controller instead?

That might be at least worth a shot.

The G51 series can do RAID? News to me... I thought they all came with ICH9M Southbridges, which are not capable of RAID.

    omggg it workkeddd

I got G51vx-A1 to raid on WinXP

following the guide you linked earlier on
only difference is the drivers you choose should be RAID ones not ACHI

    Everything works perfectly.
    Resolved.

    Thanks a bunch EIement

    Yup they can do RAID;
It comes with ICH9M-E/M or something like that I'm not sure.

    Hi!!

I have the same problem. Got a G51vx and I´m not able to install XP. What was your choice when nliting the sata drivers? can you explain a little bit more the options?

When you say you choose the RAID ones not ACHI what do you mean? did you used one of the several options of the 2 drivers available when Inserting Single Driver? Did you selected iaAHCI? or the other option.

Did you selected something different to Intel® ICH8M-E/M and ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller?

    did you download new ones?

I´m really confused with all this, and my problem is exactly the same as yours, same blue screen of death and everything.

Hopefully you guys can help me.

    Thanks in advance.

to be more specific, this is the file i downloaded:

    f6flpy32_85.zip

And this are the files i mean:

    iaAHCI.inf
    iaStor.inf

If i understood correclty, you used a different driver than these. Can you tell me where to download it?

Also, I managet to install Xp by changing some option in the BIOS (ide Raid simulation or something like that), but apparently the performance of windows won´t be the same. Are there any drivers I can install after installing XP, before switching back the BIOS option? How can I install them?
