Hello, I'm a proud owner of ASUS G51XRX05
my CPU overclocked to 2.5Ghz and I got MX-3 thermal grease.
but there seems to be a bug with the fan control,
my temps on furmark are up to 90, when in stabalases at 87~86 degreess.
serounding temps are 22'C
the wierd part is when I'm not stressing the GPU, its seems when it
hits down as 58'C, the fan shotdowns and the GPU heats up to 86'C
without fans working, only when I use demanding aplications ad hit the 90'C mark, the fan kicks in at full blast
and gets it back to normal.
my ops are WIN7 home premium and asus latest drivers (that came with the WIN copy)

Sounds like you're having a powermizer issue, this is a common problem with windows 7. download the powermizer switch and see if that helps. Also try downloading the 186.81 drivers.

thx, but do I need to turn it off or on ?
-
On. If it is already listed as on, your best bet is to change drivers and try again. The problem is powermizer is most likely being overridden by dwm.exe, (the aero interface) and is putting your GPU into gaming clocks, which it shouldn't be doing. if you can't get it to work properly with different drivers your only choice is to switch to a Basic theme, and not an Aero theme,

thank you very much, I instalated 185.85 dox
and used the swith, now my idle temp with stock GPU clocks is 50-56C
and 3Dmark score 9900 (3dmark max temp 83C), its not the score
I had with win7U RC 32x (10408) but an improvement of my 9400 last score with 195.62 dox.
