What is the max memory that G51VX-X1A Rev. 60 motherboard will support? I know it will take the quad core processor, but am not sure if it will max at 8gb memory like the desktop quad core ddr2 motherboards. Any info is appreciated.

I would think that it maxes out at 8 GB since there are only 2 RAM slots. That means that you'll have to buy 2 x 4Gb RAM sticks though which isn't exactly cheap

Regarding RAM memory, is the Kingston HyperX 4GB RAM compatible with the BestBuy G51?

I second that.... I am on the fence of purchasing an X1A for this reason

I still have never heard of the x1a being able to support a quad core processor

I believe it's already been stated that the rev. 60 board does support the quad core. People have already tried successfully to do so.

No one has tried it. I think I'm the only person with the Newegg X1A and a quad core sitting here, but I'm not willing to void the warranty since I am selling mine.

    Nope. There's at least 3 MB revisions for the rev. 60. 1 works, 1 doesn't, 1 we don't know.

So does the X1A come with 2 2gig sticks of RAM or 1 4gig? Im assuming 2 2gigs based on what im hearing.

Actually, I'm not positive on it but I strongly suspect 2 x 2Gb. People who have disassembled their systems can probably tell you for sure

It's 2x2gb modules. Plus the fact that it states it's running in dual channel mode at the post.

btw, what's the revision of 60 that the quad definitely works on?

Not exactly sure but the ones that come with a quad by default are the only ones that we know for sure.
