I just tried installing the bluetooth software found in the Asus Driver disc, and I get this error:

The model is supposed to come with bluetooth (it is listed on the specs page by newegg) but it doesn't seem to be installed properly. Any ideas?

Also, on a side note: I have Dox 185.85 drivers installed, and it won't let me update to the newest WHQL drivers (186.42 iirc) it tells me that I already have the most up to date drivers every time I try.

What program were you trying to install with the driver disc? I remember the G50vt-X6 came with a program right off the bat. Also, the dongle I put into this machine opened up a Bluetooth file exchange wizard.

As for the GPU drivers, are you doing a clean install?

I tried doing a clean install, through safe mode after cleaning with driversweeper, yes. and I was trying to install the only program named "bluetooth" on the asus driver disc.

So you uninstall the nVidia drivers and yet your system somehow detects them?

(I'll get to the Bluetooth later)

all I know is, it says that I already have the newest drivers. this is after uninstalling, booting into safe mode, running driver sweeper on Nvidia Display, and attempting to reinstall. And I'm actually more concerned about the bluetooth, my dox drivers are working fine. running much cooler than the last WHQL drivers I had installed.

For your bluetooth issue, check to see if your wifi switch on the front of the laptop is turned on.

You could be connected via an ethernet cable or another computer :p

But back to your BT issue....
Try boot your notebook into a clean boot environment to make sure this issue isn't caused by some background program interfering with the driver installation process. Follow the instructions HERE (yes, i know it's long), and hopefully this can solve the issue.

    this worked! tyvm! +rep

*edit* lol, I read that as "re-install wireless console 2" xD and that worked. :D reinstalled then I opened the Win64 folder while exploring the Driver Disc, and went through the prompts after clicking the "INST.exe" file. after a reboot, clicked the wireless console 2, and clicked bluetooth, it searched for and installed the BT drivers.

If you want to install the 185.42 drivers again: After you extract the drivers, instead of going into device manager and pressing the "upgrade driver" option, look at all the 186.42 files and click on the file that is simply named "setup.exe".

i bought the plantronics 390 bluetooth headset and it connects to my x2a but i cant select it in any of the options such as sound playback or recording. When i asked around before i heard there wasn't many drivers for bluetooth with vista 64bit so is there anything i can do to get working.

the headset itself didn't come with any drivers and i cant find any online specifically for it
