...no. the g51-a1 also comes with a targus bag, a razer copperhead and eee sticks. dont think they are unimportant, off the bat, the bag is really good quality, ofc. the razer is good, and the eee sticks are SUPRISINGLY GOOD no matter what you think. i hook up my laptop to the 50" samsung, and use the eee sticks to control the mouse. it works like the Air Mouse by Logitech, cept ofc. not as high quality, control. but it is of excellent use when im playng games with my windows controller and need to use the mouse to launch game or click on something (playing/pausing movies) etc.

Ps Thats the part I can see, ps if you are not going to contribute go away
Pss They dont only differ in cpus or I wouldnt of posted, I wanted to know the difference b/w getting the one at newegg and the one at xotic.

Sach I am a bit confused you said "no" but did you mean yes? Newegg does not offer the bag/mouse etc? Did you grab yours from xotic?

EDIT: nvm you said the g51-a1 my bad, yea now im debating 1500 for the x2a off newegg, more power 1 year less warranty and no goodies :\

clearly you never saw my contribution. the ones at newegg dont come with all the goodies (mouse, bag, wii sticks) that the a1 version comes with. plus there is no 100% guarantee quad cores will work with the newegg versions as opposed to the a1 from xoticpc.

I've got the X1A from Newegg. The X1A and X2A are unique to Newegg, just as the RX05 is to BestBuy. The A1 is sold by a number of retailers. You get the standard ASUS warranty (2 years plus 1 year accidental) from all retailers except BestBuy (1 year only).

You do NOT get the extras from Newegg, just the computer.
If you think you need quad-core then spend the extra $$$ for the A1. You also get a 2nd 320GB drive with that. If you need max clock speed regardless of dual vs. quad core then get the X2A. I settled for the X1A and bought a 2nd hard drive to setup RAID 0. All the G51 models will support a 2nd drive and RAID 0 or RAID 1.

in your thread topic you clearly want the differences between the models. the major difference is the cpus they have and the hdd config. i never know people went so crazy of free stuff. then again jamaicans like anything thats free lol. in case you didnt know. asus gives a 2yr global warranty on their retail models (bb model excluded).

Nope, I'm never nice. I riled you up so you would be forced to read, and you did so with flying colors.

Pretty much yes. It's that simple. The battery pack just adds three more cells to the two circuits.

Here's the specs on the X1A, weight is 7.26lbs:

And yes, I really like the computer so far. It arrived 6 days ago, and I've had it on the road with me for the past 4 days. No complaints so far. It's played all my games at hi res with no problems. It's kept me from going stir crazy as I'm on my fourth day of hotel standby duty (30 minute callout). Can't really leave the hotel so I've passed the time web surfing and gaming.

Actually I do have 1 complaint...at high resolutions the damn text on web pages is so small I keep having to increase the font size, it's that or get a stronger prescription for my glasses...
