G51Vx-rx05 Vs G60Vx-RBBX05

Hey guys, I was planning to get a new gaming laptop and was quite interested in the two models. But I am little confused on the screen size, some of the reviews say they are built on the same chassis but how come the screens different. And I actually havent seen these laptops physically so was wondering which one looks better. I really wished the G60 had the LED lights on the side though. But which one would you guys suggest?

The G51 is 15.6" while the G60 is 16". I've never seen a comparison shot so there's probably a tiny difference in size if any.

You mean you haven't seen them in person? The G51 has a white lid design like in my avatar. The G60 has a blue design. I personally think the blue design looks absolutely horrid. I like the G51's white design.

Keep in mind that the G51 comes with Vista and the G60 comes with Windows 7. The G51 did come with a Windows 7 free upgrade offer but I don't think you can get it anymore.

The only other differences include:
The G60 has a 2.13GHz CPU while the G51 comes with a 2.00GHz.
The G60 has 4 speakers while the G51 has 2 speakers (the 2 front ones don't work).

That's all as far as I know.

 

Agreed. Although, it isn't like YOU spend a lot of time looking at YOUR lid.

 

Yea i havent seen them in person, so still confused, which one to get. But does the screen size really matter? I mean its just 4 inches more right? Yea I think that blue one does look weird and I dont know why they removed the side leds. And I havent really found alot of reviews on the G60.

 

You looking at the BB models?
First of all they don't sell the G51 at BB, they do still sell the G60VX(while supplies last) but it's being phased out for the G60JX.
As for the diffrence in screen size between the G51 and the G60 is that the bezel around the screen is thicker on the G51, you get a very slight increase of size with the G60 screen.(less bezel)
And the BLUE on the lid is not really that bad, I like it,wish it was all BLUE but who cares, I hardly ever close the lid anyway
Side lights are lame and get annoying after a while,there cool for like 5 minutes @_@ and then it's like who cares, bad thing is there's no way to shut them off if you want.

 

Since Clutch abandoned us and his Direct Console project. Damn him.

 

Do they still have them online? I could'nt find them on best buys website. I should go and check in their stores here.

 

Like I said they are being phased out for the new model.
They might have them online(still in stock at my local BB) but you have to check.
