G51vx-a1 in canada yet?

So, i'm still waiting for my pre-order to come and apparently its supposed to come either tomorrow or early next week >_<
just wondering if anyone up in canada has gotten their pre-orders yet?

I've already talked to my reseller and may just get a full refund (yes its fully paid for already ) if it doesnt come in soon and end up ordering from someone stateside like Gentech (who i hear good things about)
i'm actually more worried about full costs involved and maybe someone can help give me a rundown of what costs are involved, i'm located in Vancouver, BC.

*sigh* i'm more anxious about the cdn release date for this laptop compared to the birth of my twins boys LOL

im in vancouver (born in winnipeg ) my salesguy talked to the asus regional rep(apparently) and the shipment is supposed to have landed today and ready to release tomorrow or early next week. I'm hoping for tomorrow

in my experience newegg.ca uses warehouses from the US newegg.com also for stock availability. where in the line would you think you are if you bought from them? at my reseller i'm first in line

 

I dont know but it is more expensive here in Canada, im planning on picking one up in NY, or asking someone to bring me one here, i mean its 500$ cheaper then getting it from newegg.

 

I couldn't wait any longer to get my G51...been waiting for it for over 3 months (even before it was announced ) I just went with the Newegg version (A1) which was actually cheaper than all the retailer versions I could find (they were all 2030$ b4 taxes) I should receive it on tuesday, really looking forward to take a hold of this beast! I could not afford a trip to the US just to get the PC (first I am 19, have no car and the money i would've saved on the machine would've been spent on gaz)

I live in Quebec, so the taxes are pretty high, and i hope we will get a Back to School rebate in canada like the US one...would allow me to buy 2-3 more games

 

my buddy is going to NY in 2 weeks he'll pick one up for me, cant wait!!!

I preordered mine for 1.9k before tax/rebate
I checked pricing, exhange and duties etc and i'd be paying roughly the same amount if went down to pickup, but + gas and time

 

Just called in.. they don't have it..

Oh well.. I shall call again monday!

 

this might not apply to you guys but the supplier said the shipment won't be ready to pick from toronto until next wednesday(either because it hasnt arrived or needs to clear custons or whatever reason).
not sure if this is just for the westcoast but apparently there are supposed to be 200+ preorders but the first shipment is only going to be 100 units (its probably for the west coast only i hope) but because i preordered well in advance i'll be getting it on the first shipment. but who knows?
In any case, if i don't get it i'll probably cancel and order from Gentech expedited Ken i'll be talking to you soon maybe

 

NCIX and A-Power have a $100 mail in rebate in Van now.

 

at this point in time im more concerned about there being enough stock :/

 

They actually had a unit in A-power late last week, new and sealed, but it must have been already sold, I didn't ask. Hope you find one quick!

 

are you sure? which store? i asked at the richmond store and they said they are waiting on it as well......unless they are holding out those s.

in any case unless they had ordered it from stateside i don't see how they couldve gotten one seeing as that most if not all resellers in canada are still waiting on it (trust me i've called almost all the major stores nationwide) free LD at work

That was in A-Power burnaby last week on the 7th. Maybe it was a demo unit.

 

Mine came in! Tested it out with Crysis, and it works BEAUTIFULLY!! at full 1080p!

so i called and my unit will be ready to pickup this afternoon.....
now i have a hard decision, should i go ahead and take my kids to the zoo like i promised and risk not getting back on time and having to go get it tomorrow, or should i just wait until i go pick it up and take the kids to the zoo tomorrow ARGHHH i never should have had kids.......lol

I Have mine! got it from newegg.ca and received it yesterday...so far, it's great! i just need a couple of games to put on this baby

Yea I was looking at NCIX or A-Power but Im still going to wait till Mid sept to see if the G60 model will be worth getting.
