hey guys im a bit of a noob when it comes to this sorta thing. i recently got an Asus G60JX-JX066X with the core i7-720qm 1.6GHz, and i have no idea how to activate the turbo boost. i read somewhere that its in the bios options but theres nothing there about it at all. it does however have the power4gear hybrid and on high performance mode theres an option for "turbo mode" but its seems to do nothing and everytime i change power plan it resets is to off. can anyone help?

You don't have to (and can't) do anything. The CPU manages turbo boost internally. Basically it increases the speed of the active core(s) while staying within predefined power/thermal limits.
The chart below is for the 920XM, but the concept is the same (just with lower speeds).

For some reason when I enable the Extreme Turbo mode, all 4 cores are clocked to 2.93GHz, which means a total of 11.72GHz?!
