Hello everybody, I have a bit of a problem. I've had my laptop since I first saw it in BB, the only problem I have at the moment is my LCD got cracked. I can't say it hindered me too much since I am currently using it with an external monitor. However I was wanting to replace the screen, hopefully with a higher resolution screen (preferably WUXGA). I figured this would be a good place to start. I read that dtd00d had replaced his stock screen with a Samsung panel and was hoping find out the model number for it. If I can I would like to avoid getting a new housing to accommodate say the G51j's screen. Thanks in advance for any help.

    I'm interested in this too.

I've replaced someone's LCD screen on a Dell, but with the same resolution. LCD Screen re-sellers on the internet, such as those on eBay, say you must replace it with a screen of the same resolution - but my thinking is wouldn't the laptop recognize the resolutions if the connector is the same? Just like plugging an LCD to a desktop?

p.s. you don't need to replace the housing - you have to remove the rubber round things on the inside corners of the display to expose the screws, remove those and the bezel should pop off. The process for a Dell Vostro 1510 was pretty easy, there's also good videos on youtube. Consult with the laptop's dis-assembly guide if it has one. Should take no more than 20-30 min

eBay has a lot of cheap screens, but the one i installed was slightly dimmer than the original I replaced so quality might be an issue.

About replacing the bezel, I meant if I downgrade in size to the 15.6" lcd from the G51, Since I'm going off the assumption it wouldn't fit properly in the G60's bezel.
