For those whom are interested in latest & newest Asus G70 gaming laptop, I've decided to create a new thread. To get things started, below are some pics and a video I found on youtube w/ a 3dmark06 benchmark.

Asus said it will be released in July of this year, but don't count on it too much. In the past, Asus has released notebooks weeks and even months past their "official" release date.

What a shame. Great looking notebook but the 8700s drag it down. Well at least its MXM so you will probably be able to upgrade to the 9 series.

Ya visually it looks freaking awesome. I wish the Sager 5793 was a bit more flashy in terms of looks, its quite plain... but its like the quiet type of person who has the inner power while the G70 is more the superficially nice person with less inner power.

8000+ 3D Marks is really impressive though! Thats pretty close to the 8800M GTX.

Even if the larger retailers like Best Buy carry the G70 notebook, it will most likely be a watered down version i.e. lower res screen, smaller HDD, less ram, etc.

Why buy from them when you could buy from resellers Like BTOtech,Gentech,XoticPC and so on? All of them offer better service and deals.

I'm pretty sure the average US consumer is unfamiliar with these resellers, not to mention Asus branded notebooks. Best Buy helps provide a venue for consumers to actually see, touch and feel the notebooks before purchasing, so those whom haven't heard of gentechpc or btotech will likely to just purchase it there.

Its cool looking, but I agree with the masses that its abit overpriced. Well the last Gseries was the same price and it did well.

Guess the gaming stuff is just more expensive than what I would pay. The M50SV is what got most of my interest. Half the price for almost everything + more with just a lesser video card.

I assume if they have cheaper competitors like others have stated that the street price will be less than what we estimate now.
