I've never been a fan of the G1/G1S/G2 etcc but I think it was because of the green/red lights. The G70SG has to be the best looking of the 3 though.
-
Finding a translation of something that was already pretty much readable isnt deserving enough. Sorry
One think I dont like is the screens; in light they are like mirrors ( as you can see above ). -
This wont be that much of a sucess because the P-7811FX is still the bang for the buck. Im guessing, this G70 will be in like the $2 000 range..

"i understand where youre coming from but think about it:
p8400 vs t9400 = win Asus
200gb vs 620gb = BIG WIN Asus
Blu Ray = Win Asus
warranty = Asus raping gateway(2 year warranty with one year accidental included)
those are actually some huge differnces the processor is like a $200 difference the hard drive is like a $350 difference and the blu ray is a $250 difference and warranty another $250 difference when you add it up you come to an additional $1050 plus the current price of the gateway it would be $1450 + 1050 = $2500 which would still undercut it yet people dont even know how much it will cost i can't see why this laptop will cost more then the current g70S at 2799.99 then you factor in things like build quality honestly i think id rather go for the Asus but that's just me" -
Heh looks that they use the horrible reflectiveness of glossy screens as a marketing tool now, to reflect cloudy skies and trees.
Making the best out of the worst, I see.
-

maybe they are trying to say sky is the limit?
-
-
Yep, a beast with a monster price on it.
SLI 9800gts, nice. It will keep you warm on cold winter nights.
Wish G50V had those colors... -

i forgot about bluetooth this notebook is a breakthrough no matter how many ways you slice it
-
The specs are perfect...
-
9800...anyone see a price on it? -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Wow that thing is sweet looking!
Plus it has the high end card in it. Wow I would love this unit. But wonder how high the price is??
I do like that baby blue to the neon orange of the G50 its a bit more subtle. -
If they did it put it in G50/G70's then I'd pick one up for my next notebook.
Something that is odd about the G50/G70 is half the sites I've seen list it as having a swivel webcam, and half don't. My guess is that the this G70SG will be like the the one reviewed by Ken of GenTechPC and not include it either.

When? When? When? When?
This is everything I have wanted in a laptop!!
When is it coming out?
WUXGA 17 inch = Check
Numberpad on keyboard = Check
Dual hard drives = Check!
9800M or equivalent = Check!
Whoohooo!
And it SHOULD be available in Australia as Asus normally is!
I was going to buy this week either an M570TU or Asus M70VM ($$value being the deciding factor) but this has it all.
Does anyone know anything more about this?
Any resellers heard anything?
Is that really SLI or just a single 9800M? -
unfortunately, to my knowledge, nothing is known yet. SLI? Take a look!
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
you knows it funny i saw that a while ago and get ready for it..................someone in german was saying this thing has 8800m gtx SLI!!!!!!!! another person said the 9800m GTS SLI but i dont know because think about it there are 3 versions of the g50 and g71v and one version of the g70?? Um no that can't be right so get ready guy 8800m gtx goodness or 9800m gts!!
-
OK. If that is an actual photo that implies it's not far away from being available. It also means it's going to be expensive - SLI expensive. Oh well. I was hoping it would have a single 9800M in it.
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
-
It's back to being the perfect laptop again then!
I just need it available this week with a single 9800M GTS (cheapest 9800M but still great) - single 250 GB drive but with a second HD bay so I can install my own second HD, Vista Ultimate 64 bit all for under $3000AU. -
-
Yeh I was being sarcastic... :-(
-
-
So really... what's a best guess for us to see this available? 1 month? 2 months? I need to get a new laptop soon and it's either going to be the M70VM or the Clevo M570TU...
-
really???????
its a good news -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
im 100% sure that this will be available in a month it will be available between now and and the end of septemeber, count on it they actually gave an official announerment that they had it that's that thing that i translated at the beginning, if they are introducing it it's gonna be on it's way very soon...
-
Any idea what the cost would be? In US$ or Euro's?
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
i would say in USD probably about $2500USD that would be ge great for this laptop lets cross our fingers it'll be this cheap
-
I can get a pretty strong Sager/Clevo for 2500 samolians...I hope it's priced competitively
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
i dont know a sager with good good specs and a 9800 would be about $2500 as well so its a toss up
-
so indeed yes... it won't be a big sucess because everyone lives in the US... -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Bingo, that is Asus's trump card they have worldwide availability
-
Any news on the release dates / price?
I am SO getting this one when it launches! -

Hate to burst teh bubble but the SLI sticker is probably for Hybrid SLI.
-
-
ALLurGroceries Vegan Vermin Super Moderator
That is the Centrino 2 sticker, if I'm not mistaken. It's the same sticker that came on my G50V.
-
could be my eyes playing tricks on me but I don't see the number 2 outline o well -
ALLurGroceries Vegan Vermin Super Moderator
Ya I think ur right... doesn't look like there's a 2 sticking out of there when I blow it up in photoshop.
-
It's to bad though that Asus hasn't really released a lot of info on this hardware refresh though (i.e. the price)
-
I like it, but for 2800 bucks I'll get a Sager that'll run circles around it
-
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
hmmm sadly i couldn't wait and i just bought a 7811fx and it is great! This laptop has some real potential though and if you are considering it DON'T hesitate.
-
Does anyone have an update on the price for this thing?
I'm getting tired of waiting, and i might just pull the trigger on a G71v-A1 or a Sager 17". -
