I've been spec'ing a 9262, and I like the Quad and and the ability to SLI a second card down the road.

i dont know, i dont see the point of a quad i really dont the only reason i could see someone needing it is if a new windows OS came out then the tides will change.

The 9262 is in a different hardware and price level compared to the G71v. I was talking about the other Sager 17", as something comparable to the G71 both in terms of hardware and price.

And i agree about the Quad, absolutely useless right now.

Mosey on over to the Sager forum and inquire about that...you'll get a much different response :) That said, after researching I 'might' go for a 5797 for more portability...I do bring it with me pretty much....that 9262 is one major beast of a 'notebook' :D

The Sagers can get out of price if you had standar stuff. They are good laptops but can easily jump over $2000.

How much will this baby cost?

im actually guessing about $2000-2300 but things like the GPU, blueray, and especially the hard drive are worth a lot of money lets hope im right.

Does anyone knows what brand Asus puts in 640GB systems (G50s/G70s)?
Is it Western Digital WD3200BEVT? Hope it is not Hitachi, Seagate without FF-Sensor.

By what I gathered reading around this forums, it seems they'll put in whatever is in stock at the production facility on that day.

This notebook has been appearing for sale online already

    now on newegg
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220469

even though other stores have it 100 dollars cheaper

this notebook is way overpriced for what you get...it doesn't come with SLI 9800m GTS
or even with just one 9800m GTX

which would have been more appealing

    major disappointment ..

The G71V with the 9800m gs seems more interesting now

I love the Backlit keyboards (namely in the Apple Macbook Pros and Alienware laptops). I think Asus even has the lights coming out of the vents, so you'd think it woudl be easy enough to add that for the keys. I know I'd be all over it - like the last thing I need to push me over the edge w/ the Asus.
