Hey all, this is my first post so please bear with me :D

I have had my G71G-X3 for almost a year now, but recently have had the urge to push it to the limit.

    Stock Specs:
    CPU: Duo T9400 @ 2.5ghz
    RAM: 6gb (2gbx3) DDR2 800MHz
    GPU: Nvidia 9800M GS GDDR3 512Mb
    Hard Drives: 2x320gb Seagates
    Windows 7

The model i purchased seems to be a regular G71G, but with a Blu Ray drive. I am looking to 1. optimally overclock the CPU (not GPU, it runs too hot atm) and 2. perhaps upgrade the CPU or GPU in the near future.

    1. i have downloaded SetFSB and i cannot get it to work with the PLL that i found (XXXAFLK). TurboGear works *okay*... it gets my cpu to 2.6-2.7ghz but nothing more.
    2. i cannot find anything for the life of me online on how to mod, or upgrade, the CPU or GPU. i am under the assumption that the motherboard supports a QX9300 and DDR3 RAM.

Thanks in advance! I've looked everywhere on this site, and came up with little to nothing.

no vista1984, it is not the same. they are different motherboards, please to not spread misinformation.

@OP, I suggest you take off the backpanel and look for your proper PLL.

on point #2, no, you cannot use DDR3 ram, and I also don't think you can use a quadcore either, only some revisions allowed that.

you are right eiement,,they are different.

well, usually "have a try" will not hurt anything. If it fails, mostly the system will just down and restart needed.

    Chipset: Intel P43 (Eaglelake-P) + ICH10 Consumer
