I notice that under XP on my other laptop (Dell Latitude D620 w/1 speaker) that I can select multiple speaker setups in the Windows Sound Control Panel. However, on the G71G-A2 under Vista there is only "Stereo" with 2 speakers even though we have 4 speakers in the RealTek Control Panel and the Windows Sound Control Panel has no speaker settings. Any idea how to enable 4 speaker output on this or is this enabled by selecting the "make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously" under the advanced setting in the RealTek setup?

Also, can anyone recommend good 5.1 or 7.1 headphones that will hookup via the SPDIF port and provide true surround? I assume we need to use a Mini-TOSLINK cable for this? I've done a bit of research and see that there are only a few that offer optical connection capabilities (such as the AstroGaming A40 with mixer attachment) and the remainder have either complete splitout cables for multiple speaker connections to a desktop sound card or alternatively a seperate or integreated USB soundcard.

    Thanks.
