    Hi Guys,

    Great Forum.
    I have a few Questions......

    I'm weighing these two captops......

The G71G-A1 actually has 6GB of RAM which I may actually make use of.
(My Desktops have 8GB and I use it all and more.....Dreaming of 16gb :>)

However, the 9650GT is about perfect for GPU power.
The 9800GS uses about 37watts more power.

    Now onto my questions.......

How Quiet does the G71G run? Surfing? Gaming?
How Hot does the G71G run? Surfing? Gaming?
Does the M70Vn-C1 beat the G71G noticably in these areas?
How Does the Overall Build Quality Compare between the Two?

Any Key differences that I should note?
The G71G supports 6GB vs 4GB and has lots of bling style lights.

Im not sure about the comparison on the other laptop but I am a new owner of a G71G and I love it.

It runs a little warm for my tastes but that is to be expected from a laptop that hits 5.5 on the Vista performance scale.

As for the video card. the 9800M GS is the more powerful card as it uses DDR3 which really eats games alive. The 9650GT however only has DDR2. That was the deal breaker for me.

Actually the 9650GT also uses DDR3, it's the SYSTEM RAM that is DDR2 vs
    DDR3.

However, there is no doubt the 9800GS is significantly faster.
However, I'm not into the type of Games that require that much power.

How much Fan Noise does your system make while gaming?

    M70Vn-C1
Nvidia Geforce 9650m GT with 1GB DDR2 VRAM
    Scores about 5800 in 3DMARK06
    Integrated TV Tuner
    4GB RAM
    2x250GB 5,400rpm Hard Drives
    Blu-Ray Optical Drive
    90W Power Adapter
    1.3MP Webcam
4 Integrated Altec Lansing Speakers w/ Subwoofer

    G71g-A1
Nvidia Geforce 9800m GS with 512MB GDDR3 VRAM
    Scores about 8800 in 3DMARK06
    No TV Tuner
    6GB RAM
    2x2GB 7,200rpm Gard Drives
    No Blu-ray Optical Drive
    120W AC Adapter
    2.0MP Webcam
    2 Stereo Speakers

So yea those are some of the differences. If you're looking for a Multimedia Laptop with Blu-ray and a TV Tuner get the M70. If you're looking for a more capable Gaming Laptop go with the G71.

the G71g has 4 Altec Lansing speakers. Not sure about the subwoofer though.
the HD are 2X 250 Gb 7.200rpm and not 2X2GB.

    I like G71G-A1's performance. I like G71G-A2's price.

I do not know how much noise they make. My Asus G50Vt-A2 is O.K.
