Hey all, been a while since I've posted, but I've been seeing more people talking about the same issue I've been having with 3, yes 3 of these Asus laptops.
It's a huge problem. It happens all the time for me, mostly in programs I use all the time like firefox, AIM, etc.
I even went to go and just return it to Best Buy, because I was sick of dealing with issues (been through 3, mind you). But of course "we didn't find any issue, so if you want to return, you need to pay a restocking fee."
Well, I, like everyone, refuse to pay a restocking fee on an item with a defect.
But on to the topic title, what would be the best way of really getting Asus to fix this problem?
I don't know if it's hardware, like a recall thing, or just a simple driver bug. I really hope a simple update would fix it, but who knows.
And please, I know some people might say "it's your typing" or "mine doesn't do that", but no, my typing is fine as is everyone else's who has this problem, and if you don't have the issue than auto-correct may be fixing it or something, because I've seen several complaints and it looks to be a wide-spread issue.

Have you updated the bios and all the drivers/windows updates, etc? Have you tried alternative programs and versions of the programs? Unless its happening in MS word, wordpad, notepad, I do not think you can get around the restocking fee.

Yes, it's happened on the default BIOS, the one which fixed the underclocking issue 1201, I believe? And even the newest one 1301, or something around that.
Drivers have been uninstalled, reinstalled, disabled, re-enabled, etc.
Happens in everything from notepad, to Firefox, to the dev console in Fallout 3. It's everywhere.
At this point, I'm going to end up being stuck with this laptop, which is fine, I don't hate it--I love it. But the only flaw I've found has been this typing problem.
It doesn't happen on my external, but I don't want to have to use that. I bought a laptop to move around, not constantly have to be hooking up keyboards and the such. -
The best way is to go on the asus forum and start a thread. If you already have let me know and i'll back you up on it since I get it too. Its most annoying during aim, because i cant go back and fix it (unless i go to slow to keep up with convo).

J/K I had to do it.
Yes I have seen this problem on some other Asus models, and I dont recall a fix for it. I remember a keyboard lag issue that we had some fixes for.
However this one was far more rare than the keyboard lag so I dont remember many people having it or the solutions they found. -
Hmm.....the G51 hasn't had any issues so if you tell us which drivers are needed for it, maybe we can send you guys a version of ours to test it?

Call Asus support and have them RMA the unit in for test and repair. Had to do that twice with my Asus A8JS. Service was timely and in both cases the problems were resolved. They even went above the call of duty and replaced chasis and touch pad that were discolored.
