I replaced the paste on my CPU, however, has anyone replaced it on their GPU or chipset? Are there any manuals that could show me the correct way to do this because unlike the G51, it is difficult to remove the heatpipes. (Do I need to remove the entire bottom cover? If anyone could help me out with this Id appreciate it.

Removing the heatsink should be fairly straightforward; it's nothing more than a large copper piece held down by a bunch of screws.
Also, apply the thermal paste correctly. The oldschool AS5 method should be used regardless of what brand of thermal paste you use. http://www.arcticsilver.com/pdf/appinstruct/as5/ins_as5_singlecore_expsd.pdf -
Right, I am well aware of how to remove heatsinks and AS5 application methods. What I am looking for is possibly a disassembly manual or someone with knowledge of how to do it, because the chipset heatpipe is sandwiched with the GPU heatpipe, and the main GPU block is underneath the card itself, with an aluminum memory sink facing upwards. I tried removing all GPU screws but it was still firm in place, which makes me think I need to remove the entire bottom assembly in order to access the GPU as well as the chipset. I have completely disassembled my old Dell XPS M170 but this G71 is brand new and I am a little more reserved about tearing her apart!

Anyone have some input on this?

Do you have a picture or a link to someone else's picture of the heatsink?
