Does anyone have the PLL for the G71GX-A1? Eiement gave me a link saying it was 9LPRS929AKLF for the G71, but maybe there is more than one? Also, if it's on the board, where would I look? Next to the CPU?

It seemed to work at first. I got the FSB up too 540 from 436. I tried 550 and it froze up Vista. Had to hold down power button to reboot. Now it does this almost every time, even if I try to go to 450. If I use the first PLL in the list I'm able to get up to about 2.13 GHz core clock by selecting 6/7, but sometimes even this will cause a lockup. Any advice would be appreciated.

I got 9LPRS929AKLF to work again. Not really sure what's going on. Anyway, if somebody could confirm this is the right PLL for the G71GX-A1 or give any other assistance it would be greatly appreciated.

you might have to take the bottom panel off and look at the PLL yourself (its actually a chip on the board)

Ya, I guess I will. I wasn't really sure how that worked. Guess I'm being lazy but I'll find it. Thanks.

Well I dug around inside and can't find anything that looks like a PLL. The video card didn't seem to want to come out so I didn't look under it and didn't see anything around the CPU or under the ram or fan. Nothing under the hard drive. Can someone tell me if they put the PLL on a sticker or what?

I tested with the PLL you mentioned yesterday and took the cpu up to 2.13ghz (bumped clock from 436 to 486). The system was stable and I was able to run 3dmark06 and get 10495.

    My $0.02 :D

Well thanks for the input. Just seems really confusing that it overclocks great sometimes, and other times not at all.
