Hello,
The clock gen is 9LPRS929AKLF. I have mine at 2.942 with orthos for around 30 min so far. The temps are averaging 57 (0 & 1 cores) with max of 60c using HW monitor. Using SETFSB to overclock. FSB is set at 311. Hope this helps the other owners.
Cheers

Well....great job there. I know a couple G71 users have been trying to find a good PLL for a while now.

Thank you Tev...I am using your guide for the G50 to overclock. The attach pic shows the temp, cpuid, and orthos progress. The laptop is handling the overclock quite well. I don't know if 63c is an acceptable temp under load.

63C is fantastic under load (for a gaming laptop that is). The G51s usually max out at high 60s under load (68C ish)

My G71's CPU got to the low 70s during 3dmark06...

My G71 freezes every I use SetFSB as soon as you click Set FSB. I made sure I'm using the clock generator listed above. Am I simply that retarded or is something crazy going on?

First thanks for the clock gen, however unless the CPU can be pushed harder and remain stable what advantage is there using SETFSB over TurboGear because with TG you can push the G71 to 2.9 as well? -

I'm using SETFSB 2.2.128.94
I can't use the task scheduler due to system lockups.
I can slowly up the fsb incrementally. I start at 270MHZ fsb and go up 10MHZ with a few seconds idle between incrementing. I can get a stable 310 fsb in this manner.
Hope this helps.

latest build of SETFSB same issue still...

The clock gen is 9LPRS929AKLF. I have a x9000 with a lower 800fsb thus allowing me to overclock to the extreme i got mine at 3.672 The temps are averaging 62 (0 & 1 cores) with max of 70c using HW monitor. However 70 is hott so i lowered it back to 3.5 and stays at 63-66 under full load stable no lockups. The x9000 is the best extreme cpu non-quad cause of 800fsb you end up not maxing the boards chipset infact you can stay below the boards 1066 and the x900 can handle a 1200 fsb if you take the cover off the laptop. But make sure you The clock gen is 9LPRS929AKLF.

@redfirekla i know u have P-6831FX using X9000, maybe this have nothing to do with this thread but, how you managed to control the temperature, mine is getting very hot (100 grades) and then it lowers speed the half, please help..
regards.
