Hi all i have a G71Gx from june 2009 and i'm very happy with it, yesterday returning from a plane trip my backpack felt on ground and now i see the display green and like missiing a row of pixels after a good row of pixels, I talked with a computer repair friend and told me that the display controller on top of the screen should be broken, I live in Venezuela were there is no chance to get it to a warranty service repair and if were i dont think that after a drop the warranty is out.
I have found the original screen WXGA+ for buying but also found this: http://www.screentekinc.com/Asus_G71...d-screen.shtml
That is WUXGA... This last should work on a G71GX Best buy?
English it's not my native language so sorry for the bad writing.
Best Regards

You should be able to purchase the WUXGA screen if you prefer that one to the original, as the dimensions are the same as the one that was installed by default. The WUXGA is definitely a nice screen, and is the one in my G71Gx.
It's a pity that they don't have an LED backlit screen that will fit the G71Gx as that would have been a more lucrative upgrade.
Good luck with the upgrade! -
Thanks for your answer Renegade, i have ordered the screen will let you know
