i can almost guarantee itll work, but since i havent physically seen it with the g72 i cant say. I got one for my g71 gx, and they both seem to have the same layout as far as hardware goes, so i'd say go for it. warning tho
asus wont ship you the screws to mount the hard drive to the bracket, or the bracket to the computer. after arguing with them for a good while on the phone tho, they sent me the screws. nice of them huh. oh wait. they were the wrong size and didnt fit the hard drive to the bracket, orrrr the bracket to the g71, so i had to scrounge for screws in my g1 and old toshiba laptop. sorry about the rant.

Thanks for the advice. That's absolutely crazy about the screws. I haven't opened up my laptop yet, but do you think it would be a bad idea to put the 2nd hard drive in there without the mount?

When I ordered a bracket for my G51 (G50 bracket) it came with screws to fix the bracket to the machine, but not the screws to fit the HDD to the bracket.

Okay, sorry to bump an old thread, but I have a similar question.

Is the bracket unique to this laptop? Or is it a certain style/model that I might be able to pick up at a local shop?

Why they didn't include it is beyond me. But I'm in the military, about a week or so away from deployment (stationed in Hawaii) and I don't think its going to make it here in time if I order from Asus
