How fast should the battery drain? (I know that is an open question).

I have Ubuntu installed (dual boot with Windows 7). I took the power cord out and it said I had 16 hours of battery life left (which I highly doubt). Then the battery was dead in about 30 minutes. I just left it sitting there and have it set to dim the monitor as my power settings.

I don't have anything running. I had to plug it back in to actually turn the computer back on.

I am going to try and run some tests. I will start up the computer with a full battery and keep my current power settings and see what happens in both Ubuntu and in Windows.

Any other suggestions or reasons why this would be happening?

Full charge will only get you a little more than an hour... 1 hour 20 max. These batteries do die quick.
