First of all, I would like to say that I really like this community, and it helped me a lot deciding what computer to buy, so thanks ppl!

There was one more thing I wanted to ask, and I haven't noticed anyone talking about, I got my G72GX RBBX05 a couple of days ago and I really like it, but I've realized that the monitor, when you look it from different angles, like sides or up and down, the colors change, or it gets darker.
I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say, I used to have a Sony VAIO FS640 and with this laptop, no matter the angle, the colors of the monitor looked the same.
I've researched and apparently I had a 15.4" TFT monitor in my Vaio and a LED-backlit high-definition plus widescreen on my Asus. Does this have anything to do? Is the Vaio monitor better than the Asus one?
Can someone help me out with this?
Thanks for reading ppl, I hope someone can help me, I'm kinda tripping out with this!

Am I the only one having this problem? Or all the G72GX RBBX05 are like this?

First of all, screen quality is very much a subjective thing. I personally think the G72GX screen is great. My wife has a Vaio and yes Sony screens generally tend to be very nice.

Normally I don't respond to a post when I don't have an answer to a question...but to me this isn't a problem as much as a matter of personal taste. Did you buy the laptop before getting the chance to see the display first?

Hopefully you can resolve the issue you're concerned about....

Sorry to say this but Asus had to cut some corners to get the G72GX to a nice price point. The G72 is known not to have the widest viewing angles.

But I don't even notice it since I'm always sitting directly in front of my G72..Why are other users even using their computer from the sides is beyond me

I know. You should see all the Apple threads about uneven off-center viewing angles.

    Cheers,

Thanks for answering guys, I thought I was the only one with this issue.
I think I'm going to refund my G72GX, and wait for the G73, its only a 600 dollars difference.

I think I will get a G72. I found a 3 month old used one @ $750 so it's about $900 cheaper to go with the G72. For the games I play it's close enough for a lot less money.

    Cheers,

I don't know of a single laptop that uses an SFT-IPS panel. TN panels are the standard for almost all LCD monitors and inherently have limited viewing angles.

You can buy a desktop monitor that uses IPS, but it tends to be quite expensive.

My Vaio you can see it from different angles and its looks the same.
My friend has a Alienware M15x and its the same, you can see it from different angles and looks exactly the same.
So, lucky you, now you know two.

The M15x definitely has a TN panel, and I'm pretty sure the Vaio does as well.

There are quality differences between TN panels, but they all have limited viewing angles.

In my experience, Sony does tend to put very nice monitors on their laptops, and I with Alienware being a boutique brand, I would hope that they do as well.

I'm kinda disappointed with the Asus monitor.
Looks like an old monitor, but I can't complain that much either, because that is one of the reasons why is so cheap.
It's not cheap because Asus people is nice, lol
