When I bought my laptop a few days ago, it was "pre-serviced" by Best Buy, with bloatware removed. Fine. But now that I'm trying to get into certain things, I can't find them and the user manual is really no help.

    1. Where's Express Gate on my laptop? Am I supposed to download it from somewhere or press a button? When I look for it in Search under Start, it finds nothing.

    2. How do I turn on my webcam?

    3. There are a total of 5 buttons on the top right corner of my laptop, the farthest right being the Power button. Can someone tell me what the rest are? there's nothing under them, not does the user manual name them.

    I'm a bit frustrated now...it shouldn't be this difficult.

There is a button to activate Express Gate if the system is off.

There should be a hotkey command for the webcam. FN+something. Look over the keyboard for the camera icon.

I have a G51, but the button should be the same. The one that looks like a weird fish is for either Direct Console (The G72 has it, right?) If not, it's for screen options. The running man looking thing is for power profiles. The touchpad-looking thing disables or enables the touchpad. The last unknown button is for Express Gate.

Goodness gracious, it shouldn't be so hard to find stuff. The manual is atrocious.

Thank you for the response. So after much button pressing, I found out that..from right to left:

    1. Power Button
    2. Touchpad Enable/Diable
    3. Power Profiles (running man, as you said)
    4. Express Gate (which ONLY works if the power is turned off)
    5. Screen options

    PHEW!

As for the camera, I see no function button that looks like a camera. Here are how my buttons look:

    F1. Zz - sleep mode?
    F2. Wifi button
    F3. Dim backlit keyboard
    F4. Increase backlit keyboard
    F5. Dim screen brightness
    F6. Increase screen brightness
F7. I dunno what this is, but it's a rectangle with an X in the middle
F8. I think this switches between monitor/external monitor
F9. I dunno what this is, but it's not the camera. It's like a square box with a slash through it.
    F10. Mute
    F11. Decrease volume
    F12. Increase volume

Oh...wait. On the letter V, there's a camera button, ffs! Why doesn't Asus have a manual that actually points all this out?

May I ask, how did you figure all this out?

Also...what the heck is a virtual camera? Is that the same thing as the webcam?

I read the manual front/back and none of this is explained..

    Thank you.

    Yep.

    Screen off/on

    Yep.

    Secondary touchpad enable/disable.

There we go. And I just looked over my keyboard, really. The G72 might also have a nifty FN+NumberpadEnter for calling up the calculator.

    Here.
