Is there anyway to change the resolution past the 1600x900 on the LCD or can this only be done on an external.

I am used to running 1900x1200.

You can't change the Resolution above the physical ammount of pixels. thats like trying to fit a 10 inch box in a 7 inch hole. LCD aren't like CRT (Tube) where you can change it to whatever you want

    Thanks!

It's not that big of a deal was just wondering. I can always connect it to an external.

With the current LCD you have the limit is 1600x900, or you could go with an external LCD. The only Asus G7X that i know uses a 1900x1200 res was the G71GX-A1.

Yeah really wish I had that resolution.

Wonder if the LCD can be replaced with another one once they release new versions of the G72.

I don't think so either because the G72GX chasis fits a 17.3" screen and the G71GX screen is a 17.1", there might possibly be some gaps or looseness.

He asked if he could replace his LCD with a higher resolution screen from a new G72 model (if Asus releases one), not if he could use an LCD from a G71.

Not the non-BB models (A1, A2, etc.). They had WUXGA.

It would be nice if I can in the future.

I am ok with the 1600x900, I'm sure it's better for my eyes - :)

There is always an external monitor.
