Greetings all, I was thinking of picking up the new Q9000 Asus at Best Buy and was wondering what people thought about it. I'm planning a trip to see one tomorrow, but is this big for a 17 incher? If I run the 260m or overclock the CPU will there be too much heat? I'm planning to have this for like 4 years or so. And I'll be playing some new games (Dragon Age, Empire:Total War) so I'll definitely be pushing this thing a bit.

    Thanks for any thoughts.

Me too. I like 1920x1200 screens, but I still play all my games at 1280x800.

900x600* your laptop can't handle games at 1280x800

Interesting. Are you guys big blu-ray fans?

I was thinking if I set the 260m at stock (as opposed to downclocked) and OC the processor a bit I should be able to hit like 11-11.5 in 3d Mark06. Does that sound reasonable? I just don't know if that thing can handle the heat from it all.

Are there any other comparable notebooks I should check out. I was thinking about the Toshiba X500 but I dunno if it can handle the games as well, and it's even bigger, and more expensive.

The quad version is online only atm, and not in stock, but you can probably see the p8700 on display.
