Trying to decide between the rbbx 05, and 09.
Basically, is it worth the $150 to go from a 5400 rpm to a 7200rpm HDD,
and from a p8700, to a q9000.
Anyone have any info that can help me out? I've used both machines, and like them both a lot. Will mostly be used for gaming, and some video editing.
Anyone who owns them, what are the pros/cons for each?
Thanks in advance!

the quadcore( Q9000) will be better for video encoding, by far, and will be better in future games with quadcore optimization. the P8700 will be better in games/applications that can only make use of 1 or 2 cores.

Most games only support 2 cores and with the P8700 being 2.5 it is the better choice right now (at least for me it is).
If I was doing video editing I would have gotten the Q9000. -
As EIement said, if you gona be using apps that support quads then go for the 09, HDD isnt that much different, when i had my G71 the drive wasnt slow or at least i coudlnt tell the difference when i got the g51 with the 7200rpm, i would probably save the extra $100 and spend it on a SSD later on and use the 500gb 5400rpm for storage, at least that was my plan until it got stolen forcing me into a g51.

Games that beat up a 2.0 GHz C2D are eaten for lunch by a core 2 quad.
Get the quad. -
4 is better than two. Because you can tip over on 2 wheels.
in other words...
QUAD QUAD QUAD -
i completely disagree. They work coompletely differently, PopRoxMimo3.
