    GL502VS/VSK BIOS update

    Is the stickied BIOS update thread for Asus machines still accurate? I updated BIOS forever ago and I'm again afraid of bricking my machine in the process.

    Also the machine I have was marketed as GL502VS but dxdiag.exe shows it as GL502VSK. Which is accurate?

    See the link below, you should be able to locate the BIOS update here. I would check to see what your current BIOS version is, if you're still on the BIOS 200 versions then you're likely using the GL502VS. However, I would contact the company you purchased this system from to be sure.

    DxDiag shows BIOS as GL502VSK.301. I am assuming that means that my laptop is a derivative of GL502VSK marketed as GL502VS series instead and the number at the end probably means I am on version 301.

    Anyway, maybe I'll pass on the update. The latest one for both says "optimize system performance" which is pretty vague. I'd rather not risk bricking of an expensive, relatively high end machine for a little more performance.
