    Hello boys,

Need quick help between two laptops. Everyday usage and casual gaming.

    Asus K550VX (i7 - 6700HQ, GTX 950M 4 GB) or Asus N552VX (i5 - 6300HQ, GTX 950M 2GB).

Price is equal to a single dollar. What's wrong with K series that would justify the 20% better config for the same cash?

    Cheers.

The N series are generally more durable in terms of build quality as from what I know, N552 still uses chassis elements from the N551.

I would go with the first option due to more GPU RAM and a better CPU

I understand the hardware, but cannot figure out why is K equally priced as a 20% weaker N?

    What's the catch there?

The K is all plastic, has a slightly smaller battery and potentially a worse screen. N series is mostly metal (with a plastic bottom panel) and potentially a better screen

the N has displayport and usb-c. You can have a triple display with hdmi and displayport, digital connection.

the K is ancient as far as connectors go. vga connector. Possibly triple display

    Thanks, that's a detail I didn't know.

I am still indecisive whether to go for build quality over significant difference in raw power.

Keep in mind - the 950M is the limit in both cases. When gaming, they will be near identical. The i7 is only noticeable if you are utilizing the extra threads.

    Thanks boys, help appreciated.

I am buying N552 tomorrow. I'm not that much into gaming to sacrifice better chassis and screen quality. K series looks like the true mediocre confection.
