I am planning to get G50Vt and i am not sure which is the best place to buy them, i know there is a better deal at Xotic cus they have a discount there. Any suggestions?

If I'm not mistaken, Xotic quotes the 3% discounted price (with certain methods of payment) and Gentech quote the not-yet-discounted price.
I bought mine from Xoticpc and I can say they're very reliable and friendly.I know that many others around this forum got there's from Gentech and are saying the same thing... SO... both of them are great. You can't go wrong with either. Flip a coin. -
both sites are very good and great to deal with. It's all up to you.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Both retailers have good reputations around here, and either will serve you well.
Ken @ GenTech is a bit more of a contributor in the forum and in my mind, personally, that warrants added consideration of purchasing from his group as compensation for his efforts (full disclosure -- I purchased my Asus in '06 from Eddie @ BTOTech). -
You can get 3% from Gentech also....I can personally vouch for them highly
-
I got 7 Asus units from GentechPC over the last couple years and they have been exceptional in every way. I'd recommend them without question.

I just ordred a G50vt -a2 from Xotic and Justin has replied all of my emails without problem. So far I have been very happy with them.

As previously said mentioned before, both are great retailers. I personally think Gentech is top notch because of all the extra effort Ken puts in making his customers (and even non customers for that matter) happy. He posts here a lot as well.
Good luck with your purchase! -
if its an asus ... id prefer gentech ... they have done a lot of reviews here with asus laptops ...
both good resellers though, good luck with the purchase man! -
I just ordered the G50vt A2 from Gentech...My choice was easy, since Gentech is located close to me (in the LA area). IIRC, Xotic PC is somewhere in the Midwest. If you are anywhere near LA, Ken confirmed for me that standard ground shipping (which I got for free with my purchase) only takes 1 day...Just something to condsider.
-
well im have a pre order with Gentech but if I can not get the the A2 minus the blue ray then I will have to order from Xotic as they have that option. Gentech is looking into this for me now.
No matter what though both are good sites to order from. -

and you got some freebies over the years.
Stop shouting me out! I am tired of giving you free stuff!
No just joking you are doing a fine job of keeping us in business -
Well I worked it out with Gentech. Asus can do it but it the relesser that does the change I think. Im happy with what I have right now.
I must say that Gentech is a great please to get an asus laptop from. -
Does the Asus warranty still covers the DVD unit, if you change the BluRay by it? Or is it only the Supplier warranty in that case?
-
I would talk to the reseller on that.

Asus does not cover warranty on any modified part however in this case it is likely they would overlook this completely.

I've dealt with both companies and I can say that Gentechs customer service is vastly superior. Ken offered me so much just to earn my business and replied to my emails within an hour or so. Just incredible service.
That said though, if you're in California then you will have to pay tax if you are purchasing from Gentech whereas you'd pay no tax if you purchase from Xotic. That's a pretty substantial savings I'd say. Another huge factor to consider - Gentech does not offer full refunds if you should find you don't like your notebook for whatever reason whereas Xotic offers a no questions asked money back guarantee within 15 days of receiving your Asus notebook. This may not matter to most people, but it is certainly useful. I bought my G50V-A2 from Xotic and realized that it was way bigger than the dimensions listed and I didn't want to be stuck with a $2k system that I didn't find usable in terms of mobility so I returned it with no problems. -
I bought my C90s from Eddie at BTOtech (great guy), but Ken from GentechPC still helps me out (a lot) as though I was one of his own customers. Both Ed and Ken are great and very easy to get a hold of via phone or MSN (or chat via BTO's website in Ed's case).
Both BTOtech and GentechPC get a +1 from me, but Ken gets the star for that extra bit of help offered. -
ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..

I just bought from XoticPC because i think the customer service was excellent and theres no california tax
