I'm looking at getting an ASUS laptop, but looking at their website is an awful experience. It's the slowest-loading website know to mankind, and when I asked it to show me 15.4" laptops, I was presented with about 25 SERIES of models. Not 25 models, 25 SERIES. That's just the 15.4" models. And the website gives you only the series name, with no help until you click on a series, and THEN a model, and then wait for it to load.
So I'm looking for a 15.4" WSXGA+ model, and there seems to be some. My question is this: for anyone who owns such as ASUS, can you measure the distance from the bottom edge of the keyboard to the front edge of the laptop? Put a ruler with one end lined up with the bottom of the CTRL key or Spacebar (for instance) and measure how much space there is for your palms; that is, the distance to the front edge of the laptop.
I have large hands and I've noticed that most laptops put my wrist uncomfortable directly on the hard, poky front edge. I want to find one that is a little roomier.
Thanks,
Mike

On G50Vt it's exactly 4.25 inches or a little under 11 cm from the bottom of the spacebar to the bottom edge of the computer. I also have big hands, and no problems here. On this machine there's a gentle slope or radius to the palm rest area as well, so it's not really a hard or sharp edge.

Hey, that's great. Most 15.4" laptops only provide about 3.5". (But I have a terrifically comfortable old HP Pavillion which gives 4.5"!)
Thanks,

Do you know if it is typical to provide a larger palm rest for gaming machines? I think the Toshiba Qosimo has one.

One model that might work for you is the N50VN-C1S at $1308.53. It offers a little less performance than the G50Vt but for quite a bit less money. -
If your in the US, the G50vt-X1 from bestbuy is a great option. It can be had for under 1000 and is very generous as far as space goes.
Gaming laptops usually are larger due to the need for extra hardware. The G50vt is very comfortable for anyone with larger hands. -
n50vc: 4.25"
