I emailed a bunch of french resellers asking them for a V1S with GDDR3...I'll let you know. Maybe one of them would be interrested to make a little aftermarket tweak of a V1S with G1S parts...let see..

Maybe as a turn in this thread, don't import your V1S(DDR2) from europe (those crooks and liars ;))! Preorder your V1S-DDR2 and get it at the end of august for 1779$ from USA here:

Have you seen any better deal out there?

here is a review of the V1S, released today. LINK
And it has a 8600GT DDR2 inside(how surprising)...I guess there is no V1s ensemble with a 8600GT GDDR3 in this world, since they all the customers get the same notebook from Asus !!

That information on hypersonic website isn't credible. There is a thread about that website in the Compal or Sager forum a while back. I can't locate the thread at the moment, but we had a huge discussion about it.

The hypersonic is actually the Compal FL90 which means it is DDR2 unless hypersonic produce their own 512MB GRRD3 cards.

I'm pretty sure that information is incorrect. They listed the same for one of there other systems, and when it was pointed out they checked and reported back it was in fact DDR2 memory. If you ask them to verify they should come back and tell you it is actually DDR2.

Hi, tI'm new in this forum...

I'm thinking in buying the Asus V2S (V2S - 4S023E) , but the version that is available in my country (Portugal) is a bit better... It has a Nvidia 8600GT with 512Mb (I don't no if it is GDDR2 or GDDR3), and a Intel Core 2 Duo 7500 (2.20GHz) processor.

Basically it has the same specifications of the V1S available in Portugal (V1S - AS004E), but has a smaller 14,1'' display.

Does someone no another country, maibe also in Europe that has the same version of V2S (V2S - 4S023E) ??? I'm searching for a review of it...
