I have the V-Moda vibe duo and am trying to figure out how to get the microphone thats part of the headset to work.

I have the G50VT-X5 and by plugging it in to my headphone jack, it doesnt detect any microphone and just uses the one built into the laptop which is terrible.

    Anyone have a idea?

As I recall the V-Moda Vibe duo holds all its connections on one male jack, whereas the headphone jack on the G50VT only picks up left and right audio. You'll need to acquire some sort of splitter to split the microphone line and the stereo audio so they go in 'headphones' and 'microphone' respectively.

Something like this but preferably vice versa on methodology, as this would require an additional f/f connector

Yeah it's all on 1 jack.

I also have the Creative X-Fi Notebook, doesn't work on that. Are you sure I need a splitter?

Your headphone jack on your laptop is meant to take a TRS connector, which only has two for left audio and right audio. Your connector on the other hand is the one on the right which has 3 separate connections. I'm fairly positive about the need to split unless someone with the actual notebook chimes in and suggests differently.

Ah but what about my Creative X-fi notebook? Plugging the headphones in the mic port doesn't 'detect' the mic either.

Sorry if I say anything that seems 'wrong', don't know much about this. :/
