Don't get me wrong, my X1 has an awesome price/performance ratio, its just that its so new and powerful some of my older games aren't getting along with it too well.
I'm thinking of command and conquer Generals: Zero Hour (ZH).
It simply doesn't support the resolution, and everything appears squashed, although it runs fine for the most part. The menu map does not animate at all tho.
Other than, its playable, but hard on the eyes due to it not supporting the laptops native resolution.
Do I just need to find a way to force ZH into widescreen?
Halo is a bit stretched as well.
CNC3 plays fine, and tho it had resolution issues as well, I've fixed it by setting the desktop to 1024X768 and then matching the games resolution, and now it plays fine, although its kind of funny to see it sitting in a square region with black borders on each edge, maybe I'll post a pic sometime.

One other thing, Kane's Wrath refuses to install for some reason. It gets to around 75%, and then I hear this odd noise from the optical disc drive, and its one of those noises that doesn't sound like it would be good to let go for a while.
I've tried installing it several times and all have failed. I'm completely baffled as to why CNC3:TW installed without issue but KW absolutely refuses to install.![]()
I suspect it might have something to do with the resolution tho.![]()

Go to graphic settings for not to scale the pixel.

Sometimes u can force a resolution from the shortcut or command line, but I haven't played those games so I don't know specifically. You can probably find tweaking guides that let you know if it's possible to force resy either from the arguments to the shortcut or from the console

Go to what ever you have? Thinking ATI and set preserve aspect ratio.

Yes the most important setting is just hat aspect ratio is preserved so you do no distort the image.
Its under the display settings for both Nvidia & ATI cards, usually its on by default though. -
Interesting.
I'll try that, thanks.
Getting older games that don't support 1366X768 to work?
