    Hi all,

I was wondering - I've had a matte laptop screen for about 3 yrs now and the cleaner for just a bit less than that - and I wanted to ask, what sort of cleaner do you use for your glossys? If a Matte cleaner and pad were used on a Glossy Screen might it damage it? Do these thing go bad after 3 years anyway ? I'm looking at getting a Z96J in particular and I definitely don't want to damage that nice screen.

    Thanks,
    Cat

I'd like some tips for cleaning my Glossy Brightview screen, I'm not sure if Windex is appropriate!

Thanks - I'll get that then - just need to find a store with it. By the way how much water do you use with the microfibre? Just a few drops?

Definitely don't use Get Off! Screen Cleaner. I just got a Z96J today and I'm in store now formatting the drive b4 installing XP then doing a MemTest - after thats done I'll take it home. I asked the guy at MileStonePC today if he had something to clean the screen when I found it was a bit streaked out of the box and had some dust on it. He tried those wipes since its the only thing they had in the store and it left a horrible streak/film all over the screen that is very visible if you view the screen from any sort of angle other than about 160-190.

Not sure what to do to get rid of that, I guess I just have to hope the microfibre and water does it...

    Thanks,
    Cat

If you have some lens cleaner for your glasses hanging around, that works good too and doesn't damage my glossy screen or anything. I just walked into Best Bu the other day and looked at all the lcd screens on the wall. Let's just say the ones that stood out were all glossy.

yes I am afraid to put "any" kind of chemical on my screen, even if its meant for it. I like to use "filtered" water (guarentteed no minerals from pipes) and a "lint-free" micro cloth. I find the cloth that comes with glasses (the thin kind not the puffy yellow one) works awesome.

Well lens cleaner was made for glasses, most of which have a layer of gloss or film on them to block out certain UV rays, increase light passage, and other weird stuff.
