is anyone using a notebook cooling pad of some sort for their Asus notebook? namely the W3V? Any suggestions on a good, efficient cooler that isnt too expensive?

Antec makes a nice powered pad.... fit and esthetically work with the W3... they're about $40 I think. Thats one of those things we've always got... haven't found anything better, but if there's anything better out there, we'd love to get those to sell instead.... but from my experience, it's a nice little set up.

I'm using one of those plastic coated grids normally found in the kitchen department, under my Acer 5002. It raises the lappy about 0.75" off the surface and provides enough air space below to keep the lappy cool. But I've also seen the Targus chill mats - with two fans - at Circuit City for around $20.

I have a Targus Chill Mat. It is not the best cooling pad I admit, but it gets the job done nontheless. I noticed a reduction in hard drive temperature - it went from 57 degrees before the pad to 43 after. So, it was definitely worth it to invest in a cooling pad. :)
