Depends what price range, for cheap and decent speakers, Logitech usually does a good job.

are your talking about notebook speakers or actually computer speakers? notebook speakers tend to be pretty expensive when you look at price to performance ratio. If you want notebook speakers, logitech v20 are a decent pair: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121134

If you dont mine regular desktop speakers, I would recommend Creative I-trigue 3300 and Logitech Z4 makes great speakers (IMO):

You might be able to find them cheaper else where if you search.

If you are looking for speakers on the go I recommend JBL's On-Tour Speakers. I have them and use them for my notebook, mp3 player, portable DVD player, and PSP. They have great sound for being so portable. There is not much low end but that is to be expected from speakers so small. They are 3 watts per channel. They can be run off of batteries or outlet.

I just got a pair of Altec Lansing ACS48's off of a BST forum for $19. One minute with them and I know they should have cost me a few times more than that. They're old though and long discontinued, so good luck.

    Yes, definately with Altec Lansing.
When it comes to speakers under 50$, Altec Lansing provides it.

I Bought a pair of Altec Lansing AD106 speakers (3yrs ago for 40$), and I wasn't sure how good they sound.. well I just witnessed my friend's 120$ Logitech 2.1 sound system ... And my Altec Lansings blew it away completely.. In loudness, bass and sound quality. :p
