By now, A8Jm white box has been 95% confirmed, Taiwan still insist on the ensemble version of it, but will (95% confirmed) make another one looks slightly different, the same video card whitebox model, and will be available at the begining of May, I just suggested a very dark color like Z70Va.

BTW, the ensemble A8Jm will be available in couple of weeks, means right after mid April, not in couple of months, but the price has not been finalized.

I am happy now, because I am a white box guy :)

Will it be in the Z62 series? or Another Z series?
It looks similar to the Z62 to me...

But seriously, do any of us? I refresh the forums at least 2-3 times per hour when I'm at my desk. To get any work done, I have to leave the building to areas that have no computers.

    omg...yes a A8Jm whitebox with the 512mb go7600???

but will it come to the states as a barebones as well? or are you talking about canada only?

Also any idea on the model designation of it? will the 14.1" lcd have a different res from WXGA?

LOL you guys are hilarious and coriolis....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA~! You take the cake.

Hrmm, sounds very interesting, I could suggest this baby to my friend who's looking to buy next month.

    Sweeeeeeeet.

Maybe I should've bought from you guys over at CanadaSys instead of PacificNotebooks. Hrmm.... :)

You guys seem to be more CONNECTED with Asus.

I say this because I noticed that Danny you have helped so many people here on the forum plus you help your customers. My reseller just hands it over to Asus in Toronto and says it's out of their hands and that my warranty is with Asus for a year, not them, so any problems they have to RMA it.

Is that how you handle it Danny?

    Sorry for jacking the thread.

NO price yet, but I BELIEVE T2400/100G 5400/DVDRW/2048M/no OS will cost you below US$1500.
It should be in the Maarket early May

I'm a few days old to reply to this thread, but I'm in the market for a notebook in the coming months and this just seemed too good to be true.

You're saying a whitebox version of the Asus A8Jm which has:

    - Centrino dual T2400
    - 2gb of Ram
    - 100gb 5400rpm drive
    - Go 7600? (how much ram? 512?)
    - 14" Screen
    - DVD Multi drive

IE: The one that can be found at : http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=1095&l1=5&l2=61&l3=0

    all for around 1500$ US?

Seems like a steal for what you get.. but if that's what it is, I may have to pick one up.. Where can I preorder? :)

Isn't this thing even thinner than the W3J?

If this laptop runs for around $1500, it'll definitely be between the W7J and A8Jm. I just have to see weight and battery life and I guess I could make a decision then.

I wonder if the control key is on the far left bottom or if it is switched with the Fn key. Small thing I know.

So there's no model # for the one CanadaSys is talking about? (the one we're getting in Canada)?

I thought it was the A8Jm

^Wait, what exactly does barebones mean? As in, a unit that you customize?
