What they failed to mention is that Steam is required. Now that I know other "ASUS G-Series Owners" has a good sized group on Steam, makes me feel pretty good about my recent Steam installation -
Pre-Ordered to get $20 Gift Cards, but I waited for the day before release so I won't get it till Friday. Does anyone really care that Multi-Player is capped at 18 Players? My only gripe is that "Small Maps + Tactical Nuke" doesn't make much sense. Hopefully it will when I start playing!

Enjoy the game fellaws, I will be skipping on this one but I can assure you its a fine game. -
Really considering this one. What game would be comparable to MW2 so I could get an idea on how it would run? Crysis? and is it multicore supported.
Oh and about the mutliplayer. Many in the PC community are quite unhappy. If your not aware of the situation please watch for your briefing.

lol @ crysis. COD:MW1 would be the best comparison. Same engine.

The watered down multiplayer is what turned me off the most about this game. I'll stick to CS:S.
-
You'd rather play CS:S than CoD:MW (not MW2)? In all seriousness, what's better about it? I haven't played CS:S since it launched, and that is after playing CS since betas, so if any DLC has made it comparable, I might give it a try while I wait for my copies of MW2 to arrive. ^_^

Garry's mod+ CS:S=win

Link me please. A quick youtube search of CS:S Garry's Mod provides only "CS:S Disco" videos... TIA.

in my honest opinion...I don't CS.S is on the level of production that MW2 is. MW2 runs awesome and looks sick on a 260M. While playing I keep saying to myself Thank God my PC can handle this badboy

That's because CS:S is over four years old. The Source engine was the cat's meow back in 2005, and still is to this day.

skygunner you play halo much? we should play sometime. not to put the hate on borderlands, but it wasnt that good of a game imo. it feels really repetitive going back and forth doing quests. the OMGZ 1million weapons was a disappoint, sure they have better stats but the feel the same. i loved the graphics art design tho, that was awesome. overall imo, its a 7/10. maybe 8/10 if you find a really good bunch of players. some of em are just too unresponsive, and never talk/chat.
-
I also got my copy of MW2 three days ago =) and I am waiting for my copy of L4D2 (pre-ordered). I don't know if it is a good thing having so many new FPS games just before my December examinations... -
Yea I can get these newer games but haven't because I'm still exploring other games I never could play on my old PC. Sure makes studying difficult too
Thinking about MW2 but I don't know ... -
-
But my question is...the mw2 works good on your computer?
thanks -

Goddamn you guys. You're making me want to buy this game even more now. This would technically be my first COD game I would own, (not played).

"SPOILER ALERT"
MW2 looks great on my G71. My native res is 1440 x 900 and that's what I play at. I have every setting at max and anti aliasing turned up to 4xAA. The ONLY time I feel my framerate go below what I'm comfortable with is during "SPOILER ALERT" the invasion of the U.S. suburbian neighboorhood by the Russians. To remedy this I turned AA from 4xAA to 2xAA. Problem solved.
I'm so Glad I went with my G71 at 1440 x 900. If I had any other model I would have to downscale the graphics and settings even more. -

Yea I think the makers of the COD series really make good optimized games. You would think that MW2 would need a killer gaming pc to enjoy it but that's great news that it runs well, just like the older titles in the series.
Another fps war game I really like is ArmaII but I'm struggling with my G51 to run it in it's full glory. Although I think its because the view distance is incredibly far, among other things, Ill definately need a new machine for that.
Can't wait for new COD's, I'm still playing COD UO and COD 2. -
