These days I find myself on this forums more often than not lately. When I'm not on here, I'm on Steam or off my G73.

If you don't have Steam and enjoy gaming get it!! It's free.

There is a GREAT/Knowledgable group of G-Series users or past users that have created a group called "Asus G-Series Owners". They are composed of members from these threads. They are also very active in the community here and on Steam.

    Wiki:
Steam is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation. It is used to distribute a large number of games and related media entirely over the internet, from small independent efforts to larger, more popular games. Steam is set apart from similar services primarily by its community features, completely automated game update process, and its use of in-game functionality.

There are over 1,100 games available through Steam, and in January 2010 Valve announced that it had surpassed 25 million active user accounts. It regularly services in excess of two million concurrent users. Although Valve never releases sales figures, Steam is considered by its competitors and clients to be the market leader, controlling an estimated 70% of the digital distribution market.

Many major publishers have catalogues on Steam, including Electronic Arts, Activision, 2K Games, Ubisoft, THQ, Sega, Codemasters, LucasArts, Capcom, and Bethesda Softworks.

I'm only a light gamer (if I can even call myself a gamer - ok, I play games sometimes) but I joined the group.

    Thanks for the info!

Its funny...bc I was just talking to my buddy today about how I may not buy metro 2033 and lost planet due to them needing steam. I have has steam on my first laptop and always had a bad feeling about it taking over my computer..I dunno...I always read of what a resource hog it is and I really dont need useless things like steam running in the backround all the time. I know steam has come a long way, but I have a sour taste in my mouthb from the hay day with them. I used to think steam basically "abducted" your computer once installed! ha.

Can someone convince me otherwise (i.e that it is not a resource hog and will only run when prompted to) been outta the steam game for a while. thanks brah's!!

I only ever buy valve games on steam. Otherwise I'll have a physical copy so no one can claim they "just sold me the license" or some nonsense like that.

You don't have to have Steam running all the time. I just start it when 'm going to play and exit when I'm done.

It's funny you said that because I use to think the same thing. As of right now...Steam stays in it's place. It's a very good program :)
