    Got a new battery, but with only 3 months warranty?

    Thanks to a crack in the old battery due to mishandling, i had to get a replacement battery. But anyway, why is the new battery's warranty only 3 months? I was expecting at least 6 months. :rolleyes:

    Purchased the battery from Asus Service Centre at The Adelphi, opposite Funan Digitalife Mall.

    ASUS batteries should have 1year warranty. At least those that come with the systems have, in EU and US.

    However, from my very limited experience in Singapore, you get what you manage to bargain for :) Maybe that's related to it?

    I think the 1 year warranty you're referring to is the 1st year warranty for the whole notebook hardware. The standalone battery i got is 3 months.
    Nope. I got it for SGD 240 and it's not exactly a bargain.

    Is this warrenty replacement ? Normaly they give blance of that warrenty remain on oringal battery

    No, i bought a new battery, and i'm curous why the warranty is only 3 months given the price. I feel a bit..cheated :p

    The EU and US standard warranty at the moment is 2year for the notebook hardware except battery where it's 1 year. I think that new batteries are also 1 year, in any case at least 6months.

    But warranty policies differ in different countries and continents. So your 3months may be standard in Singapore, you need to check.

    Edit: I quite agree that 240SGD = 120 EUR is not a bargain, unfortunately...

    in china when you buy new laptops you can extent the warranty from 3months to 1yrs by registering on the asus website...
    but i think it is quite fair that only 3months for new battery..as the longer warrant period means more expense.

    Well "cost-efficient for the user" is very different from "cost-efficient" from the company. And the process by which a balance is struck between these two requirements -- well, I would hardly call it "fair".

    Rather, it's a power struggle between the sway of the company on the consumer (using advertising and other means), and the power that the consumer has on the company (by opting to buy or not to buy the product, and by consumer protection laws and regulations).

    Fairness has nothing to do with business nowadays.
