After using ASUS MBs for my past 4-5 desktop rigs I decided to look into the ASUS laptops. Reading the forum here and elsewhere on the net helped convince me to buy the ASUS. Geared2play.com had very reasonable rates and great customer service.
I got my M6Ne about a week ago. So far it's been pretty amazing. The screen is sharp and has no dead pixels. Battery life is amazing!! Unit is very quiet. My Compaq Evo sucks donkey balls comapred to this. You can actually have this on your laptop w/o feeling like you're getting burned!
A lot of folks have complained about the sound, but it isn't *that* bad. My coworker liked my laptop so much he ordered the M6BNe from geared2play. That one has 2 speakers below the LCD in addition to the front-underside ones, so the sound should be better.
If you're getting a gaming laptop, don't buy this... 64MB of video isn't gonna cut it for 1024x768 or greater res w/ everything turned on high in Far Cry. This laptop does look a lot better than the Compal CL56 (reminds me too much of my Evo... eeewwwww...). Buy this laptop if you want something that feels solid and looks stylish. The blue LEDs are definite eye candy! =)

My M6Ne (ordered from Geared2play) just arrived today. Gonna have to spend tonight migrating my files from my old laptop...
Looks perfect, and I think the sound is better than on my VAIO GR300. Installing the memory was a snap. Funfun...
Got my M6Ne...
