Im 80% there to playing games again with my wiimote.
The G50V-A1 comes with a Broadcom BT Card and while the card itself seems capable the bluetooth stack is uses is a version of the Microsoft one witch is an absolute complete joke of a BT Stack.
The C90S I previously had and my Desktops USB Dongle both use the Toshiba stack which is awesome.
So the big reason it didnt work is the stack, there usually not interchangeable but some companies make alternative BT Stacks the one big name that I know of is Bluesoleil. I tried it a few days ago and could not get it to install even tho there system hardware checker said it was compatible with my system. I tried again today and it works so I think I maybe downloaded the x86 version instead of the x64.
With the new version winremote and glovepie are working 100% So as we speak I am using my wiimote to control winamp![]()
Now the reason I say I have only gotten 80% there is the same problem you can find me talk about in my wiimote thread. I use 2 programs together Glovepie is the program that turns all the wiimote signals into computer commands. The 2nd program needed is PPJoy, its a virtual joystick creation program. It lets you emulate a joystick/gamepad using Glovepie and unfotunatly that program only works in x86 not the x64 version of Windows that the G50V comes with. I am not quite prepared to downgrade to x86 to use my my wiimote yet (but I might)
But there is still one hope, the best hope for most of you. Pinnacle Game Profiler is a program that lets you set up custom stuff for all your games it works with x64 and while originally it was just a program to add custom buttom profiles for all your games individually to add gamepad support to them even if they did not support it, a while back they added support for the wiimote. It has its own way of reading the wiimote so you do not need to write any manual code with glovepie just plug & play. Unfortunately its still beta and wont work for everybody. The G50V seems to be included. It simply will not find the wiimote as a controller device so you cant use it.
I know the person who owns/created the program and he lost the guys helping him with the harder part of the code but he is still steadily working on it so I am really sure at some point it will be working 100%
Biggest problem for some may be that this is not going to be a free way to do things. Bluesoleil is free to download and use but its just a trial version, same for Pinnacle. But that means atleast you can try it out before you buy.
Bluesoleil is so good by the way, it connects and disconnects from devices 10x faster than the MS stack and adds many more options and a really really awesome interface. I think I may want to do a review on it.

How did you get Bluesoleil to recognize your bluetooth device. I am illiterate when it somes to bluetooth.

Just click the control panel and have it pair with the wiimote, it was very straight forward. It pairs with it in less than 2 seconds, fastest bluetooth software I have ever seen. It takes like 5 or 6 seconds with Toshiba and even longer with the MS.
Edit haha, wow just paired my Plantronics 590's to it within a milisecond of them entering pairing mode they poped up and less than a second later after putting in the pass code it was paired. Bluesoleil seems to be in search mode for new devices constantly. -
Hi Vicious,
I'm using Wiimote with my G1s from many month now, and it's very funny.
I'm currently using Thoshiba stack, that is perfectly compatible with my hardware.
Recentrly I want to use Bluesoleil, as I'm not so satisfied with the poor option of the thoshiba stack.
Unfortunately bluesoleil (trial version 6.0) install perfectly, but as soon I connect the wiimote and try to receive data with GlovePIE, it BSOD and reboot Vista..
Have you any clue? -

The very newest version has a BSOD fix, did you try that one? the .11 at the end not the .10
Toshiba is not a bad stack it has everything you need it to and it works great, Bluesoleil seems to work faster and have a better interface and a few cool options but its not freebut the wiimote uses very little data so the 2mb limit may last you an entire game no problems.
The only Tohsiba stack I tried is the one for my usb dongle and it wont work as it tells me to insert the usb dongle to finish the install, maybe just maybe trying to use another one will work but I bet the G1S has the same card that the C90S has and it came with the Toshiba stack.
Got my Wiimote working with the G50V
