Okay I have a Dell M1210 that had a T5600 in it and other basic specs. I got a great deal on a T2300 and downgraded the Dell to this chip, it's still very usable. T2300, 1gb ddr2, 80gb HD, Wifi, Bluetooth, XP media, still a very good unit.

Now I want to take some of the other parts I have, the T5600 chip, a 250 SATA HD, 2 * 1gb DDR2 mem chips, so basically the makings of another good laptop. But every unit I see is 800mhz, and states they are compatible with the T7*** series.

Can someone recommend a good unit that will take this mem, chip and HD, and a site that has it in stock. Prefer, 12 inch or 13.3, and 14 if it a a really nice barebone. I'd like to keep cost of the barebone around $700. Please point me in the right direction, as I'd like to turn the m1210 over to the wife and get working on my new lappy right after the New Year :).

The T5600 will not work in "Santa rosa"(Socket P-Intel Mobile GM965 chipset) Notebook. You are limited to a Socket M(945 chipset).

I believe the older Asus Z62J(14.1), ASUS Z35F(13.3 but uses a PATA/IDE Hdd), or Z62F(14.1in but also uses PATA/IDE Hard drive) will fit your part list.

Look at the Asus reseller list in the Asus Faq/Guide for places to buy them but most of the resellers will probably be sold out.

    Happy Holidays.
