Besides being SATA, are there any other requirements that an external hard drive needs to be compatible with the S96J? Of all the SATA drives I've seen, they've been like SATA 3.0 gb/mosiadghoasd or something like that (exaggerating of course), lol. Does that mean there's different types of SATA drives? Which one does the S96J take?

Any 2.5" SATA drive will work on the S96j. All 2.5" SATA drives now manufactured are ATA150. Only 3.5" desktop SATA drives are 3gb now.

Well, the question I asked is that I think I'm gonna go with a 3.5" hard drive. I asked if it'd be compatible over on the after market upgrades section and I got replies that it'd work fine.

So when you are saying "Only 3.5" desktop SATA drives are 3gb now." does that mean all desktop SATA drives are the same and so they will all work with the S96J?
