    Hello,

I realize that this is not the first topic for this question, but since we are talking in detail I would like to present my question for the specific laptop variation. So, as you might figure already, I would like to put a Solid state disk in place of my current Hard Disk and then shove the HDD in the optical bay, since I am using almost no DVD / CDs at all. I looked up some second HDD / SSD caddies for N56VZ:

    2nd Hard Drive HDD SSD Caddy for Asus N56VZ N56VZ DS71 N56VZ ES71 Optical Bay | eBay

    New SATA 2nd Hard Drive SSD Caddy for Asus N56VZ N56VZ DS71 N56VZ ES71 | eBay

Those were the first two to pop up. They are fit for N56VZ, so I think they should do, but they do have some extra clarifications for specific models, like: N56VZ-DS71 N56VZ-ES71 and mine ( S4048D ) is not among;. That is why I thought that I should ask you guys, and here I am.

By the way my SSD is Samsung 840 EVO 120GB.

    Thanks,
    Alex

The suffix usually just depicts specific hardware configurations and/or region. An N56VZ is still an N56VZ,so any caddy compatible with it, regardless of the model suffix, should still work with your laptop.

P.S. The EVOs are great. Nice choice!

My thoughts exactly. But I wanted to post, just to make sure. Thanks for your comment. I did some reading before buying SSD :)
