Last Sunday (9-26) I bought a pair of N82JQ-A1's from Amazon (fulfilled by their one-time competitor Buy.com of all places) for under $900 each. Amazingly, they arrived at my door on Friday 10-1! However, before I really start playing around with them I want to upgrade them a little with a new hybrid HDD and some RAM. I'm thinking of getting the following and would like some opinions. Specifically, whether you think these are the upgrades, and the particular components, that would give me the most bang for my buck. I'm trying to keep the cost of the upgrades as close to $600 as possible in total, so I don't think I can afford a true solid state drive yet. Remember there are two laptops I want to upgrade. Right now the price of two hard drives and two sets of 8GB RAM is $622 delivered.

Seagate Momentus XT 500GB w/ 4GB NCQ Solid State Hybrid Drive - $129.99 each
    G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) - $179.99 each

    What do you think?

The prices seem alright. I'd say if you need them, go for them. There is a review type thing here which say's nothing but good things about the HDD.

Thanks. Is there a different brand of RAM I should look into before buying the G. Skill?
