    I own a Asus C90S,

I got a HDMI cable to try and hook it up to my TV but the problem is there is no sound :( I don't know what I could do to fix this so I thought I would ask for help hear.

I checked out my SPDIF setting in the volume but it was grayed out and I could not use the slider at all...

I spend awhile goofing around with the Sound panel in task manager but there was nothing that I could really have changed or done. I also checked the Realtek HD Audio Manager, but that turned up nothing as well. in the "Audio I/O" it kinda only gave me the option to mute the grayed out SPDIF or not.

When I have the HDMI Cable in I get alot of noise, kinda like feedback or static that just constantly comes through the TV speakers.

Could anyone help me as to how I could get this HDMI cable to play sound as well?

    Thank you.

right click the volume icon -> select playback devices -> select Realtek Digital Output -> click the "set default" button

    this should do it.

    edit:
why not just help him instead of being a snob about it?

I got to the right click on the volume icon part...
But I only had Open Volume Control and Adjust Audio Properties

heh I guess I am failing at this pretty bad...

Because I felt his issue was completely different then mine and he found a solution to whatever his problem was.

OK your on XP, that's why the right click on the Volume Icon doesn't work as that's a Vista feature. Goto Control Panel> Sound and Audio Devices> Audio> then switch it to Realtek Digital Output then Apply.

Not sure if that works, since I'm using Vista. However I can't see why not.
